Insurance for travelling abroad

Travel insurance providing insurance coverage for the card holder in travelling worldwide constitutes an integral part of the embossed cards (MasterCard Standard, MasterCard Business - Programme Standard, MasterCard Gold, and MasterCard Business - Programme Executive).

Who is insured

Travel insurance covers the payment card holder, or, as the case may be, their co-travelling spouse or partner and their co-travelling children under 18 years of age.

When the insurance is in force

Travel insurance is provided to each card holder for the entire term of validity of the card to which it has been concluded as a supplementary service, always for the term of a foreign trip not exceeding 45 consecutive days.
As a matter of fact, the insurance commences and terminates upon the crossing of the Czech Republic's frontier (upon leave and upon return). The number of journeys is unrestricted. The costs of the foreign trip need not be paid using the payment card in order to make the insurance valid. The insurance does not cover the territory of the Czech Republic or of the country of the insured person's permanent residence.

What is insured

Travel insurance covers insured events listed in the table up to the amounts of the limits specified. Please see the table of the insurance coverage limits.

Exclusions

The insurance shall not cover conductance of high-risk sports (please see the Insurance Terms and Conditions for more detailed information) or the conductance of any sports in organized sporting competitions. Should you intend to conduct such sports, please do not fail to conclude additional insurance before travelling. The insurance does cover recreation conductance of common sports, including winter sports.
Please see the Insurance Terms and Conditions for Travel Insurance, for more detailed information on the exclusions from insurance; the Insurance Terms and Conditions are available at the bank's branch offices and at the bank's webpage. Please study the terms and conditions thoroughly before travelling abroad.

Procedure in the event of injury or acute disease abroad

The travel insurance is provided in cooperation with the ISOS assistance service, whose operators speaking Czech are available 24 hours a day.
In the event of injury or acute disease, please ALWAYS contact the assistance service as soon as possible; the assistance service will help you find the medical facility and organize all related services.
Identify yourself to the assistance service by stating your name, bank name, and number of insurance policy (see the card). You will be inquired about the validity dates of your payment card, your current location, and other information necessary to organize assistance for you.

With a private doctor, you may be required to pay minor amounts in cash. If this is the case, after return obtain the claim form (available at the bank's webpage or insurance company's webpage, or may be sent to you upon request). Any claim for reimbursement must be made within 30 days following the occurrence of the insured event.
